I guess it's the easy thing in the world, but for some reason my portfolio is complete devoid of fan art. I guess use to draw things that I loved, but somewhere down the road I cease doing and went into my world. I guess the problem with that is your are tends NOT to be that much relatable, and I guess I need bridge that gap, as an art director recently he'd like to see more famous people. I guess I always enjoy drawing people I actually knew, and I've never been to much for celebrity worship. But now I think I'm going to change my tune.

What kind of fan art would you like to see in my style. (any suggestion or specifics)
1. Movies/ TV
2. Cartoon/ Disney,
3. Video Games
4. Comic Books.
5. Celebs/ Pop culture

Does anyone one have modern and contemporary ideas that haven't been done. I definitely need some hot iconic shit! I think I'm going to do first, LEON: the Professional. What are you're thoughts?

I get people who love football and want to gather around to watch the SUPER BOWL. I personally never was a fan of watching much professional sports. Unless there is gambling going on, its just so BOOOOOOORING. But i don't get people who don't watch or particular like football who give the reason why they want to watch the Super Bowl is for the commercials. Since where are commercials goods, they're the WORST part of tv. It's like not liking sex but looking forward to putting a condom on your genitals. It makes no sense to me! I say fuck those commercials and all the hype behind it. It's madness~

I'm updating my web site, and need to draw a new illustration for my splash page that was simple, but had some kind of explosive power while doubling down on the pimp juice. I had plenty of more elaborate and complex designs and illustration, but ultimately went with the simple, stereotypical pimp look. So once you have your concept you need to conceptualize it with pencil and paper.

People will often be in awe in my awesome abilities, and the first
question they tend to want to know is what program I use, but the
secret to good art is good drafting skills. Plus simply tracing fotos is pretty lame for the most part. I generally use copy papers and just tear that shit up. I use to have a light box and make super clean drafts and redrafts, but now I'm like fucking and will just roll with a dirty ass sketch and fill in the gaps digitally. (as seen in phase 1.)

Phase 1 : Conceptualize
My thought was to come up with some thing that was cute, demands attention, and puts a goofy smile on your face without being to vulgar and explicit. I think this is the right balance.

Phase 2. Line Art

I aim to keep my line work super duper clean, and to get them this
clean take much, much practice.  The goal is not make it look so
blatantly obvious it was design in a computer, and that your computer rendered work looks faithful as your pencil skills. But if you can't draw on paper, you work no matter what program you use will lack personality and soul.

Phase 3. Coloring

I love using bright and bold colors. But I think some people mistake that for being tacky and loud, especially with the resurgence of all this tacky 80's glam graphics. It can look good when done right, but when done wrong...it looks really wrong. I'd like this is it done right.

Fan Me---------> www.facebook.com/pages/Juicy-J… <----) I'm trying to build a bigger cult following to fuel my ego.

I'm building a new website that more interactive, more awesome, and actually generate commerce. So going to re-brand myself, and double down on the Juice, while being even more vehement on selling myself. I'll keep you posted.

I started watching the first 10 minutes of Max Payne. It got horrible reviews and everyone says it's shit, but I'm liking it so far. Then again The Curious Case of Benjamin Button got rave reviews at thought it the generally Hollywood turd sandwich.

The other week a creative director I had submitted work to for a project said he LOVED my work, but thought it might be too "Bootylious." That would be great if I sent him booty filled illustrations, but all the work I gave him was pretty tame and modest, but that can't really be said for my website.  And then I got a request to do a comprehensive storyboard from this reputable Ad Agency. The Associated Art Director saw me in Creative Arts Mag. and thought I'd be perfect, but then powers that be decided to go another director that wasn't "urban." What the monkey balls? I guess there is a glass ceiling  to where you can go as an urban provocateurs, which is why I'm changing up my direction and spreading my net for maxim exposure. Just gotta avoid the trap of falling into obscurity...gotta change up. That's why I'm going to be creating more "cartoons, caricatures, and more pop art," and going to try and tap into stuff white people like while keep the Juicy Flavor alive. I'll know I reached that stage when I've obtain the glow.

My Goal for this year is to get into more magazine, namely Complex, and get more contributing illustrator gigs for national magazines. The Art Director of Geek Monthly wrote and praise my  work and wanted to see some of my renderings of famous people. I thought this is the perfect time to create some mainstream samples and  that weren't so "black." Here they are. (as seen down below).

I was at doctor offices and even sketched and conceptualized my new website design to make it less HARDCORE and take it from a 10 to a 7. I should be bring it too you in the next coming week. It's going to be hot! With the economic slow down it's becoming harder and harder to land solid giggs...so you have learn to adjust and adapt to the elements. Thanks.
